Another point of view explaining the anticancer mechanism of amygdalin, obtained from the kernels of bitter apricot, is that the amygdala can be considered as a vitamin, and its deficiency will contribute to the development of oncology. This theory also met with rejection, moreover, it was believed that amygdalin should not be called vitamin B17.
