The chemical composition of honey

The properties of honey, depending on the place of its collection, differ:

  • by consistency;
  • by color;

The consistency of the product may be in a liquid or crystallized state. Liquid consistency is the usual state of nectar after pumping, crystallization occurs due to gradual thickening. The color of the product can vary from white to brown, it all depends on the plant from which nectar was collected.

Important! Honey should taste sweet if bitterness or acid is felt - it is spoiled.

The composition of the product is presented (per 100 g):

  • carbohydrates - 82.7 g;
  • proteins - 0.3 g;
  • fats - 0 g;
  • water - 17 g.

The product contains the following vitamins and minerals:

  • riboflavin;

  • vitamin C;
  • magnesium;
  • zinc;

  • potassium.

The product is able to give strength to a body exhausted by catarrhal diseases, as well as provide a softening effect for cough and sore throat. To improve the general condition of the body, it is necessary to use a vitamin cocktail based on honey, which consists of the following ingredients:

  • nectar - 50 g;
  • walnuts - 100 g;
  • freshly squeezed apple juice - 100 g;
  • juice of one lemon.
Walnuts need to grind into powder, pour into nectar. The resulting mass is mixed with lemon and apple juices. Prepared cocktail take 1 tbsp. l on an empty stomach for a month.

Important! With increased acidity, the daily intake of honey is 100 g, which is recommended to be divided into 3 doses.

Nectar is one of the products that are allowed to be consumed during an exacerbation of gastritis. The product in an amount of 10 g is dissolved in 200 ml of warm water and drunk during the day. You can use this recipe: take 600 g of nectar, 200 g of aloe, 300 g of red wine, 30 g of snake highlander in powder, mix all the ingredients in succession and cook in a steam bath for an hour. The medicine is taken 20 g 3 times a day. With toxicosis, take 40 g of lemon balm and pour 200 ml of boiling water, insist 20 minutes, then drink it in small sips, after eating a spoonful of nectar.

Honey swabs

Honey swabs are used in the treatment of cervical erosion. To make them, you need to take cotton wool, roll it into a ball with a diameter of 2 cm, wrap it in two layers with a bandage and tie it so that the tampon does not come loose during use. Within 3 minutes, the resulting swab is impregnated with nectar and inserted deep into the vagina overnight. The procedures are carried out for 15 days. This treatment is effective for candidiasis.

Use in cosmetology

To make your skin clearer and lighter, you need to apply a mask based on honey and lemon:

  1. Mix lemon juice (20 g) with 30 g of nectar.
  2. Apply the mask with light, rubbing movements on the skin of the face and neck for 20 minutes.
  3. Use 3 times a week.

Honey mask for all skin types:

  1. Melt nectar (50 g) in a steam bath.
  2. Apply the mask in a warm form, evenly distributed over the face and neck.
  3. Wash off the mask with warm water after 20 minutes.

Face mask made of honey and olive oil:

  1. Mix olive oil (20 g) with 30 g of nectar.
  2. Apply the resulting mass to the face with light movements.
  3. After 25 minutes, rinse with warm water and pat your face with a paper towel.

Mask for nourishing hair roots:

  1. Melt nectar (50 g) in a steam bath.
  2. Slowly mix the nectar and egg yolk.
  3. Add 20 g of olive oil.
  4. Evenly distribute the warm mixture on the roots of the hair.
  5. Wash off the mask with warm water after 45 minutes.

Cooking Application

Honey is used as an impregnation and disinfection of raw meat and fish. Marinating with nectar gives the meat softness when cooking. The product is widely used not only in the preparation of marinades, but also is part of the sauces that are offered when serving meat dishes. Honey is also widely used in baking, it is added to the filling and dough. In the manufacture of baklava, it serves as a connector for cakes, while adding softness to them.

Contraindications and harm

People with heart diseases are better off not combining hot tea with honey - this will increase sweating and can trigger a spasm of the heart muscle. You can not enter nectar into the diet of a baby due to the high allergenic reaction to the product, as well as the risk of infection with botulism.
