Features planting and further care for cherries Syubarovskaya

The vitamins with which the cherry is saturated contribute to increased immunity, the health of the cardiovascular system, and the stomach. Also, the berry is used in the cosmetic industry. There are many varieties and types of berries. Among them, sweet cherry, which is called Syubarovskaya, is a Belarusian variety, characterized by high productivity and delicious fruits.

Botanical description and characterization of the variety

The described species was created by crossing two varieties of cherries - Severnaya and Pobeda. A tree can grow up to 100 years with proper care. The place of origin is the Republic of Belarus, therefore cultivation of the variety is most common in such areas as Mogilev, Minsk, Grodno, Vitebsk and Gomel. Another fruit is grown in the southern regions of Russia.

Did you know? In 2005, the Syubarovskaya sweet cherry variety was included in the state register of varieties of the Republic of Belarus.

Wood

Syubarovskaya is a tall tree: its height is 4–5 meters, but sometimes it can reach 20 meters in height. The crown is large, has a pyramidal shape. The leaves resemble cherry leaves, but they are larger with large deep veins. The variety blooms in small inflorescences.

Fruit

Young seedlings begin to bear fruit in the fourth year after planting. Flowering varieties occur in late March - early April, depending on the weather. The first fruits appear in late May, but the Syubarovskaya sweet cherry ripens completely in late June. The berries are sweet, have a dark red color and a round shape. Sweet cherry stems well from the pulp. The pulp itself is also burgundy, juicy, medium density.

Pollinators

For pollination of cherries, pollinating varieties are planted: Severnaya, Narodnaya, Gronkava, Muscat. The optimal distance is not more than 50-60 m.

Productivity

Sweet cherry fruits annually. The yield of the variety is high - approximately 18 kg of berries are collected from one tree with proper care.

Frost resistance

The variety has a risk of freezing because Sjubarovskaya’s buds open in early spring, although frost resistance is moderate.

Advantages and disadvantages

  • The considered variety of cherries has its advantages:
  • the plant belongs to centenarians;
  • early ripening;
  • every year bears fruit;
  • high productivity;
  • sweet berries;
  • It is not susceptible to various diseases.

  • The following can be distinguished as the disadvantages of the variety:
  • the tree needs pollinating varieties;
  • exactingness to the place of landing and soil.

Preparation for landing

Before planting a variety, you need to consider several important points for further successful growth and bringing the crop. The place for planting, the timing and choice of seedlings are directly related to the future yield of the species.

Choosing the best seedlings for planting

Seedlings should be free of cracks, mold, stains. One and two year old trees are planted. Before planting a plant, its roots are kept for 5-7 hours in water, and all leaves are cut off before planting. When transported to the site, the roots are wrapped with a damp cloth.

Important! You need to choose seedlings with a developed root system.

Choosing the right place on the site

The best soil for planting sweet cherry Syubarovskaya is limestone or humus. It is not recommended to plant plants in peat or clay soil, because the roots of the tree can rot from the large amount of groundwater that is available there. It is good to plant a plant in a closed area, so that the site is not blown by the wind, and in the winter the snow lingers to nourish moisture and protect against frost.

For trees of the described variety, warmth and good lighting are needed, therefore, it is recommended to choose a sunny and slightly elevated area for planting.

  • Near cherries planted cherries, grapes, elderberries.
  • Not recommended neighborhood with raspberries, gooseberries, currants, apple trees, pears, plums.

Sweet cherry has a strong surface root system, which often depresses its "neighbors", including raspberries.

Landing time

Cherries are planted in spring, in mid-April. Planting should be done before the buds in the trees swell.

Step-by-step landing instructions for beginners

Landing process:

  • from the very beginning, you need to prepare a pit for a seedling (60 cm deep, 80 cm wide);
  • at the bottom of the pit lay a mixture of fertile soil and humus (1: 2 buckets);
  • put the seedling on the mixture;
  • the seedling trunk needs to be raised slightly above ground level, because the soil has the ability to sag after a while;
  • to fill up with soil, watering planting material.

After planting a tree, the earth around is made with a small fence to retain moisture when watering.

Features of seasonal care

Cherry, like other trees, requires timely and proper care in spring and summer, as well as preparation for the winter period.

Watering, cultivation

Loosening the soil under the cherries is carried out after rain. After loosening, the absorption of minerals and moisture by the roots improves. Both young seedlings and adult trees need regular watering, which is carried out 3 times during the summer period.

Top dressing

Fertilizing plants is carried out in the fall. Before top dressing, dry mineral compounds are dissolved in water - this mixture is introduced into the ground to a depth of 20 cm. You can purchase them in specialized stores.

Preventative treatment

In the spring, trees are sprayed from harmful insects and diseases. Cherries are processed when the air has already warmed up, and the leaves have not yet blossomed. For treatment, they take "Nitrafen" or a urea solution - with their help they destroy insect larvae and fungal spores. After the tree is processed, the cracks on it are covered with paste, and dry bark is cut off.

Important! Chemical treatment is stopped 20 days before harvest.

Pruning

Pruning for the variety must be done in the spring, when there are no buds on the tree. Cherry is cut every year, as the shoots grow rapidly - their growth is especially intense on young seedlings (in the first five years after planting). First of all, the branches that grow to the trunk, and those that stand out against the background of other branches, are cut so that the crown has one shape and a neat appearance.

After trimming, the branches are treated with garden glue so that there is no strong gumming. The formation of the crown is carried out so that fast-growing shoots do not make it very thick and this does not decrease productivity.

Winter preparations

From the very beginning, the cherries are well watered, then peat or humus is placed in the perinar circle (layer 15–20 cm). After that, with the approach of winter, the plant is disinfected with garden whitewash to protect against pests. A frame is built around the young trees, and agrofibre is mounted on it for additional shelter of the plant from the cold. Also, the trunk can be closed with a metal mesh from rodents.

Did you know? Bees can collect up to 35 kilograms of pollen from 1 hectare of cherry trees.

Pest and Disease Control

The variety is not too painful, but nonetheless susceptible to such diseases:

  1. Kleasterosporiosis - brown spots on the leaves, which then become holes. The disease can also affect the branches, buds and flowers on the cherry.

  2. Coccomycosis - appears on the leaves (fruits, shoots) after heavy rains. This is expressed as brown-red spots.

  3. Moniliosis, or gray rot - drying flowers and rotting fruits on trees. May cause plant death.

Prevent and eliminate diseases with the help of copper oxychloride. To protect the crop from being destroyed by birds, rustling bags, foil, reflective tapes are hung on the trees, and a more effective and modern method is used - this is a garden net through which birds cannot get to the berries.

Harvesting and storage of crops

With proper collection, transportation and storage, berries can be stored for a long time for use in different food fields. Harvesting occurs when it is fully ripe - this is the end of June. The berries are picked with stalks or cut so as not to damage the berry. To ensure that the fruits are less damaged, you need to use a convenient container for collecting cherries - for example, plastic boxes.

If the fruits need to be taken far, specially equipped cars with a temperature of 0 ° C are used. Keep the berry in the refrigerator or in the freezer. Before storing in the refrigerator, it is better not to wash the fruits, and also make sure that they are not wet, remove rotted cherries. You should keep the berries in trays, not in bags - so they will retain their presentation. Sweet cherry is well kept in the refrigerator for about 5 days, subject to the above rules.

In the freezer, the berry can lie for up to 1 year under the correct storage conditions. You need to stock up on special packages for fruits, as they do not let in the third-party smell of products lying in the neighborhood. For a good harvest of Syubarovskaya cherries, the conditions for planting and care must be observed, not forgetting about pest protection, timely watering, and preventive treatment.
