In hot climates, watering is carried out once a week, in temperate - once every 10-14 days. Under each plant make 1-1.5 liters of water. In rainy periods, watering is generally canceled. So that moisture is evenly distributed in the soil, as well as harmful microflora is not formed in its upper layers, after watering and rain it is necessary to carry out loosening under the bushes and in the aisles.
Fertilizers begin to be applied from 2-3 years after planting. It is better to use only organics, since the fruits can accumulate nitrates in themselves. Top dressing is carried out according to this scheme:
- at the stage of bud extension - add 1 liter of liquid mullein to 10 liters of water, add 0.5–0.7 liters each;
- after flowering - add 10 tbsp. to 10 l of water wood ash and 5 kg of compost, insist 5 days, add 10 liters of water and make 1 liter under the bush;
- after 10 days - feed with an ash solution, adding 10 tbsp. to 10 l of water. ashes; make 1 liter under the plant.
Pest and Disease Control
If the weather is too wet, you need to pay more attention to loosening and mulching the soil. In addition, dusting with wet ash and soil should be carried out with wood ash. This will make it possible to save plantings from fungal infections and pests.
